Dr. Ghassan Alsulaiman

Chairman of the Board

Dr. Ghassan Ahmed Alsulaiman is an accomplished and respected philanthropist, businessman, and entrepreneur. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of San Francisco, California – USA, and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Hull University in the United Kingdom.

In 1983, Dr. Ghassan undertook his first significant business venture by opening the Kingdom’s first IKEA store, thus becoming the second external franchisee for the IKEA Group, which later flourished to become one of the most successful and leading furniture retailers in the Middle East.

Aside from being the owner and chairman of IKEA Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ghassan is also the chairman and board member of numerous private and listed companies. He is a dedicated individual and is involved in a number of programs that provide training, education, and support systems for the community. He is also involved in organizations that promote local economic growth and development, and serves on the board of many non-profit organizations. Dr Ghassan is the Honorary Consul of Sweden in the Western Province of Saudi Arabia, and is the co-chair of the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce.
