Alsulaiman Group Launches Its First-Ever Sustainability Report, Marking a Major Milestone in ESG Leadership

Alsulaiman Group, a leading Saudi family-owned enterprise, proudly announces the release of its inaugural Sustainability Report for the fiscal year 2024. The report showcases the Group’s integrated environmental, social, and governance (ESG) achievements across its entire portfolio, including IKEA Alsulaiman, Flow Progressive Logistics, Circle K Alsulaiman, Alsulaiman Foundation, and others.

This report represents a key milestone in Alsulaiman Group’s transformation journey and its alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). It also reinforces the Group’s designation as one of the Kingdom’s 19 official Sustainability Champions by the Ministry of Economy and Planning.

Key highlights of the report include:

  • IKEA Alsulaiman: Leading positive impact with over 3,000 sustainable products available to customers, installing solar panels in select stores to reduce emissions, organizing community workshops that promote better everyday living, and converting unsold or excess furniture into circular economy opportunities.
  • Flow Progressive Logistics: Advancing a transition toward a low-emission fleet, activating sustainable packing practices, offering installation and maintenance services that extend product life and reduce waste, and expanding smart-use self-storage solutions to optimize space and efficiency.
  • Alsulaiman Foundation: Designing and delivering high-impact community initiatives across four key pillars: economic empowerment, education, family, and environment. Programs include support for home-based businesses, home gardening, and digital education – all focused on long-term sustainable impact.
  • Mustadam Platform: Driving real change in circular economy practices with more than 14 metric tons of furniture rescued and reused within just one year, transforming how waste is managed and influencing more responsible consumption behaviors.
  • People Empowerment: Employing over 4,000 coworkers in Saudi Arabia with a 61% localization rate, emphasizing workforce diversity and female empowerment, and maintaining rigorous occupational safety standards across all companies.
  • Governance: Establishing a formal governance framework for sustainability, including dedicated committees and procedures, and integrating ESG criteria into periodic reporting and decision-making – enhancing transparency and accountability at all levels.

Saud Alsulaiman, Alsulaiman Group CEO, stated: “This is more than a report — it’s a reflection of who we are. Our purpose is to make sustainable lifestyles exciting, and this report shows how we’re delivering on that promise. As a Sustainability Champion, we are committed not only to reducing our environmental footprint but also to mentoring others and amplifying collective progress toward Vision 2030.”
