Alsulaiman Group Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development

Alsulaiman Group, through its non-profit arm, Alsulaiman Foundation, has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to enhance the role of the cooperative sector and work towards achieving sustainable development goals, while empowering individuals economically and socially. The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of Alsulaiman Group and Chairman of Alsulaiman Foundation, H.E. Dr. Ghassan bin Ahmed Alsulaiman, and the Deputy Minister for Community Development, Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Majed. Representing the group in the signing was the CEO of Alsulaiman Group, Saud Alsulaiman, while the Ministry was represented by the Director General of the General Department of Cooperative Societies, Maan Al-Anqari.

The memorandum aims to build a strategic relationship between both parties to strengthen the role of the cooperative sector in economic and social development by providing support, facilitation, and overcoming obstacles. This will help establish and operate specialized cooperatives to empower the target groups within the framework of economic empowerment across various regions of the Kingdom. The partnership will focus on development projects and raising awareness of the cooperative sector’s culture, contributing to the achievement of shared strategic objectives. Additionally, the agreement includes training and qualification programs for the target groups to help them enter the labor market.

As part of the partnership activation, the “Food Services Cooperative” has been established to empower productive families in the field of food preparation. The cooperative aims to enhance the individual capabilities of its members, provide sustainable job opportunities, and improve the quality of services and products offered. These efforts significantly contribute to achieving economic and social development while promoting the spirit of cooperation and integration within the community.

Through this memorandum, Alsulaiman Group and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development aim to achieve the objectives of a national vision that seeks to make cooperatives one of the key contributors to the national economy by 2030. This is due to the importance of cooperatives in improving the economic and social standard of living. The Ministry plays a key role in unifying efforts, providing support and facilitation, and enabling the private sector to participate in social responsibility, empowering the target groups to benefit and contribute to building sustainable cooperative models.
